Every company today needs IT that works faultlessly. How do you get that without paying for computer repairs? Read on.
It is like owning a car
Almost everyone owns a car. Skip the regular servicing it needs and there is a good chance that sooner or later something serious breaks, or that the repair bills climb higher than they should. You hand the car to a specialist, of course, so you can be sure the next journey is safe and trouble-free. IT systems are much the same. They need expert, regular maintenance, and when they do not get it, the complications make the whole operation more expensive.
What outsourcing does to your costs
Because IT outsourcing runs on efficiency, the cost sits at 25 % to 50 % of what your own employee costs. That is the main financial advantage, and it comes with the certainty that the company has several specialists available.
The point of outsourcing is that you pay only for what you need. It works out cheaper. We can hold to a contractually agreed response time, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year if that is what you need, and we see that as another significant advantage.
What the options are
On the money side there are several options. Services can be billed as a monthly fee, which means the work is not capped at a number of hours, though implementation work is priced separately. We can also agree hourly rates with customers, or a combination of a monthly fee for guaranteed response times plus an hourly rate for specific work.
- With a monthly fee the customer always pays the same amount whether we spend an hour on a problem or ten. We try to solve it as quickly as we can so our customers can get back to what they were doing. It works out well for both sides.
- Hourly rates suit smaller companies that only run into IT problems occasionally, or companies that do not need a guaranteed response time because they can live with a problem for a day or two. The monthly fee suits companies with a lot of IT equipment where everything has to work.
The financial advantages of IT outsourcing
- Costs worked out precisely
- Flexibility in the type of contract
- Savings of 50 % to 75 % against one in-house employee
- Efficient management, with systems kept in good order and no bills for service hours
IT outsourcing therefore works out more efficient and cheaper than an in-house IT team overall, and it also saves on repairs because it keeps the systems in good order. The spending is transparent and there is more than one way to arrange it. It depends on what the company actually needs.
